Bugs:
1. Call permit tone not working in memory mode, only in vfo.. and even in vfo, sometimes.
2. Can’t change radio id w/o pc cable

It would be great to add those things:
1. Option “dual waiting toggle” to bind on short/long side button press. Or maybe hardcode this function to [band] button – it is senseless in current function (Wouxun has cool [tdr] button instead)? Or [a/b] long press?
2. Now, when dual waiting is active, scan feature is blocked. Just disable it temporarily instead when entering scan mode.
3. An option to choose default talkgroup for channel in VFO (now 1st one is hardcoded from contacts, can override only by calling from contactlist manually). Ability to enter all DMR channel settings without PC cable is killer-feature of RD-5R, but without possibility to change talkgroup it is senseless in most cases.
4. Either remove limit of 16 channels per zone, or limit to 2 digits when directly entering channel number in channel mode (now it’s 3 digits, and user always needs to enter leading 0, that’s boring).
5. Shortcuts 12345 … to navigate menu (like in uv-5r)
6. Good english font without serifs
7. Dual waiting symbol is strange. Why “S”?

I’m an amateur radio and this is a bit off topic. The RD5r has complete function but has also a lack of flexibility, when you are using TALK GROUPS. In my opinion when you select differtent CONTACT, on the radio menu this must be override the memorized TG. When you select a CONTACT you can call a different talk group if you press PTT, but after 7-8 seconds return to the original memory programming and call the original TG, not the TG setup by the MENU on the RADIO. This fuction is available in many others radio and is very useful for us. Furthermore the override musy interest also the rx group. For us it’s useless setup a TG , press PTT and call IT, but after short time back to the original TG. In this way you are obliged to load all TG’s on memory channers, and in this way memory channels aren’t enough.
